How is your dog during car rides? Unless it’s a short ride around the block, our Muffin gets a bit motion sick. When we first adopted her, it was worse but now that’s she’s more comfortable and with her Thunder Shirt, she does so much better. But regardless of how your dog is, here are some tips for any car ride!
- Make sure your dog is secured and safe. Whether it’s a long car ride or short, you need to make sure your dog is safe and comfortable.
- Pack bottled water and a bowl – You never know when your dog will need water or if they get dirty. Water is always great to have around.
- Grab a towel – Towels are SO HANDY to have.
- Roll down the window – This tip is especially important is your dog has motion sickness issues like our dog. Keeping the car cool and circulating with fresh air is important. The AC is good too if it’s too hot outside to roll down the window
- Carry Treats – It’s probably not a good idea to over feed your dog prior to long car rides but giving a few small pieces of a treat may calm your dog down and take care of their empty stomach until you get to your destination
