Taking your dog with you on trips involves possible interaction with other people as well as introducing your pet to an unfamiliar environment. If your dog is rough around the edges and not people friendly, it may be wise to get some training.
These training classes not only will calm your pet but also will teach you how to communicate with each other. This is very important especially when in an area unfamiliar to your dog. Your dog may become more scared or more defensive. Be aware!
Local pet stores such a Petco and Petsmart have training classes all year around. There are also private dog training classes that you may be able to find via Yelp.com or even try word of mouth. This is often times the most reliable way to find more information. Ask your friends and family who have dogs that may have gone through a training course. It may cost a bit and take some time but in the end, it will be well worth it. You will have a companion that is easier to travel with. Who doesn’t want that!
